Youth Committee
The Multicultural Youth Council of the Northern Territory is a newly formed subsidiary body of the Multicultural Council of the Northern Territory Inc. Our Council comprises of 12 young people aged 16 to 25 years, from diverse cultural backgrounds, and is primarily responsible for identifying and counteracting multicultural youth issues in the Darwin and surrounding areas. MYCNT is committed to identifying issues concerning youth from diverse ethnic backgrounds, and raising awareness of all cultures in the Northern Territory. MYCNT also organizes activities integrating young people from all cultural backgrounds. The organization is run entirely by youth for youth.
The Youth component of MCNT will be one of this year’s most exciting additions to the Council’s project repertoire. The Youth Committee will bring young people from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds together to make positive contributions to the larger community.
The MCNT is keen to attract young people from across the multicultural spectrum into the program which is designed to ensure that the voice of youth gains support across all areas of policy development in multicultural affairs.
This program will be stimulating, creative, uniting and energizing, and of mutual benefit to both culturally diverse communities as well as all members of the wider community.
